RZR XP 4 Cage

Brian Tecklenburg - Friday, March 30, 2012

Our newest addition to the Vent Racing Roll Cage family.  This cage is kind of a special addition, as we are especially excited about this particular machine.  This cage had a few specific design goals that we had as requirements for this machine.

1. Strong.  This cage needs to be really tough.  The XP 4 can go almost 80 miles per hour off the dealer's floor, and often carries precious cargo (kids, family members etc.  So we built this cage to be a minimum of 5 times stronger than the stock cage.

2. Full width.  The stock cage, has a major weakness, that it gets really narrow at the top, this means it is really easy to get your body outside the protected zone of the cage.  To address this problem, we build this, and all our cages to go out from the bungs, rather than in, like the stock cage.  This means the protected zone is significantly larger than the stock system, in addition to it being stronger.

3. Visibility. The cage should not significantly impair the visibility for the back seat riders.  one of the things that makes the RZR XP 4 so fun, is all the riders are in the same area.  That means they see what you see, this presents a bit of a chalenge to make it strong without lots of full length cross members.

4. Cool Looking.  The stock cage sticks up really high in the air, it also looks like a stink bug.  We followed a few basic de

sign cues to make this a better looking cage.  first we chopped it down 4 inches, not low enough to be dangerous, but

not unnecessarily high.  we also flattened out the top of the cage, making the roof line a lot simpler, and in simplicity is beauty.  we also added an interesting brow line and lots of supports and cross members for protection and a tough look.

We accomplished all these goals and more, by building this RZR XP 4 cage we have created a new look, a stronger cage, a bigger protection zone, and did it all without impairing the visibility from the back seat.  We Love our newest cage, and hope you'll love it too.
